Seasons Bakery was established in 2020 by Chris and Melanie Cheung. It was created to bring exceptional hand-made pastries to the community and the homes of East Vancouver.
Chris originally started his baking career by apprenticing in the kitchen of Seasons Bakery (then Bakery Sate) before deciding with Melanie to take over ownership so that they could give back to their community through a welcoming space and hand-made artisanal baked goods.
The kitchen of Seasons Bakery is the 'food lab' where traditional techniques are paired with local, seasonal ingredients. Within this tight-knit team, food is used as an outlet to channel creativity.
As partners, Chris leads the experimentation and creativity in the kitchen. At the same time, Melanie ensures that Seasons Bakery creates positive ripples within its local community on Commercial Drive.
Each season has its own unique feel and beauty, which is how we're inspired when we're in the kitchen. We create every pastry and bread in our cafe by hand, most of which take 2–3 days to complete before they're ready for your tastebuds. Our baking is our love letter to our community.
